Tuesday DESIGN Inspiration: WHAT AN AMAZING HOME!!

Inspiring Spaces by Ty Larkins

I know this isn't the first time you've seen Mr. Larkins on the Internet, far more well read blogs
have blogged about his inimitable style. Still, I hope that you'll find inspiration again in these
pictures of his private Baton Rouge home.  This has to be one of my favorite homes. The decor is classic and impeccable!!

Completely new construction, Larkins, a completely self-taught designer and former attorney,
designed it from the ground up. A love of old homes, Ty grew up in New Orleans, and was
influenced heavily by the history, elegant architecture, and fine old homes of that grand
southern style. Obviously traditional Southern design, Ty calls his style "Hip Traditional",

Preferring a neutral palette, Ty suggests that you try color in a room you don't spend too
much time in, i.e.: a foyer, a powder room, and keep the rest of the house neutral, which can
allow you to change the look of a room without blowing the budget. And speaking of budgets,
Larkins confesses his budget probably had more splurges than stingies, including his favorite
piece in the house, the 17th-century Italian chandelier in the living room.
So, without further ado ... (or more blah blah from me) enjoy Ty and his beautiful
families Baton Rouge Masterpiece - I know I did!

The Cherry Blossoms are an awesome accent!!!.......Love the draperies

A collection of modern and "old-world" / classic pieces gives the room a sophisticated edge!

My mother would kill to have those toile covered chairs......lol......she loves french toile!!

The chalkboard in the kitchen is a well loved IDEA!!

MORE CHERRY BLOSSOMS

The bed and the linens are amazing......I want that one for my home

An amazing garden. Very serene!! I would love a cup of tea or coffee in this little area
